New trends in Taobao dispute handling rules: New penalties for wrong shipments or mis-properties

With the changes in the Taobao market, there have been cases in which sellers shipped goods in a large number of wrong orders or mis-ordered goods in the market, which has affected consumer rights and interests and it is necessary to clarify the disputes arising from them; at the same time, the sources of the submission to public review will also be adjusted, and the relevant contents of dispute handling rules will be adjusted simultaneously.

The change of the rules will be announced on November 15, 2016 and will officially take effect on November 22, 2016.

The main changes are as follows:

1. Article 3 of the "Taobao Dispute Handling Rules" shall be adjusted by means of disputes being handed over to public review and judgment;

2. Article 21 of the "Taobao Dispute Handling Rules" adds a new dispute handling explanation for large-scale mis-shipment or mis-ordered cases.
