On July 13, 2016, the Alibaba Security Summit with the theme of "Gathering and Empowering" was held at the Beijing National Convention Center. At the meeting, the "E-Commerce Ecological Security Alliance" initiated by Alibaba and industrial chain partners was officially established, aiming to gather the strength of the security circle, open up security capabilities, empower small and medium-sized enterprises and users, and improve the security level of the entire industry.
"Safety Brain" scans 1 billion products in 10 minutes
Alibaba's Chief Risk Officer Liu Zhenfei said at the meeting that compared with traditional network security, the current network security situation is characterized by "borderless and uncontrollable": on the one hand, hundreds of millions of users use Internet products and services anytime and anywhere, without any boundaries at all. On the other hand, the equipment is uncontrollable. The total number of virus Trojans scanned by Alibaba JuSafe in 2015 exceeded 300 million times; people are uncontrollable, malicious registrations and false transactions occur frequently; the content is uncontrollable, and a large number of videos and pictures uploaded by users, pornographic or banned content occur frequently; even the products are uncontrollable, and 95% of popular APPs are troubled by counterfeit applications.
In addition, security in the new era also faces a huge black and gray industrial chain, which are driven by huge returns on profits and cause great damage to normal business operations.
It is reported that there are currently more than 400,000 "practice workers" in China's online black and gray industry chain, and the number of people relying on them to commit online fraud is at least 1.6 million, and the "annual output value" exceeds 110 billion yuan.
Liu Zhenfei introduced that based on the current situation, Alibaba Security has implemented a nine-character policy, namely "light control, focus on detection, and fast response." Light control means to reduce various restrictions and make business development and innovation more convenient; focus on detection means to make full use of big data and artificial intelligence technology to quickly identify and locate various hazards; fast response means to establish defenses as soon as possible, and clean up or accurately strike.
It is reported that Alibaba's unique "security brain" can discover various risks such as account theft, transaction fraud, malicious behavior and other risks in real time from the tens of billions of transactions every day. It only takes a few dozen milliseconds to place an order on Taobao, and Alibaba's "safety brain" can achieve hundreds of safety tests. It can even complete a full security scan of more than one billion products on the Alibaba platform within ten minutes, discover harmful content and products and remove them in time.
Start the "Yucheng River" to protect the safety of transaction orders
Since Internet security has no boundaries, there are no independent individuals in information security. If a platform leaks, hackers use relevant data to "collide the library", which will also seriously threaten the account security of other platforms. In the past two years, a large number of security incidents have proved this. For example, when an email account password is leaked, the security problems of other companies have increased accordingly, Liu Zhenfei said.
On the other hand, attacking shortcomings is one of the main means of the black and gray industry chain. Taking the e-commerce ecosystem as an example, its overall security confirms the "bucket theory", and every link with potential risks in the ecological link may become the "shortest board". Every partner in the ecosystem cannot be immune to the issue of Internet security. Only when the security level of the entire e-commerce ecosystem is improved can the rights and interests of consumers and sellers be truly protected and a safer online shopping environment can be created.
It is precisely based on the above considerations that Liu Zhenfei announced the formal establishment of the "E-Commerce Ecological Security Alliance" at the meeting, aiming to improve the overall security capabilities of e-commerce ecological participants. It is reported that the alliance has attracted more than 20 industry-influential service manufacturers, logistics companies, merchants and other ecological partners to join.
According to Liu Zhenfei, Alibaba currently provides solutions in security products, standards and other aspects to its alliance partners. "Yuchenghe" is one of the important products. Based on Alibaba's massive basic data and strong data analysis capabilities, it uses the industry-leading risk detection model to detect and identify abnormal data access behaviors in equipment, accounts, applications, and systems in real time and handle them appropriately, allowing service providers, merchants, logistics and other partners to timely perceive data risks and ensure the security of core data.
It is understood that the cloud host of the service provider protected by "Yuchenghe" covers 93% of Taobao transaction orders, helping service providers analyze 180 million core data access behaviors and intercept risks every day, and helping logistics providers analyze 35 million times a day; nearly 8 million terminals of more than 3 million merchants are using protected service providers or logistics applications.
Not only the e-commerce ecosystem, there are also a large number of small and medium-sized enterprises in China that have strong security needs, but they lack sufficient security capabilities. Du Yuejin, vice president of security at Alibaba Group, said at the meeting that Alibaba hopes to work with security manufacturers to better serve small and medium-sized enterprises and improve the security level of the entire industry. This also reflects the theme of this security summit "focus on and empower".
