"Business Observer" exclusively learned that Alibaba Group's supermarket business platform - Tmall Supermarket recently "changed its coaches" in a low-key manner.

Former Tmall Supermarket General Manager Jin Cheng was transferred to Alibaba's acquisition of assets and the person in charge of "Character Hui" of luxury discount e-commerce.
Jiang Pan is the new general manager of Tmall Supermarket, who also serves as vice president of Alibaba Group.
Jiangpan joined Alibaba Group in the first quarter of 2016 and was appointed as vice president of Alibaba Group. In June, Jin Cheng was transferred to the position and Jiangpan took over as general manager of Tmall Supermarket.

Jiangban "born" from Walmart China, has served as the operation director of Walmart China West China, the operation director of central China, the president of hypermarket operation store planning department, and the vice president of Walmart China. After resigning from Wal-Mart, he worked for SEPHORA. Jiangpan has rich experience in offline retail operation.
Tmall Supermarket is the fourth consumer platform created by Alibaba's retail business group after Taobao, Tmall and Juhuasuan.
It is also the "fire point" for Alibaba and JD.com to compete recently. JD.com established its Fresh Division in March 2016 to launch a large-scale attack on the online supermarket business. In June 2016, it announced the acquisition of the No. 1 Food E-commerce Store and reached a strategic supply chain cooperation with Walmart, a global supermarket giant.
Tmall Supermarket is currently the leader in China's online supermarket market. In mid-2015, it began to make efforts, investing 1.5 billion yuan in market expenses in the Beijing market, and vigorously developing its online supermarket business.
In early 2016, Jin Cheng, then general manager of Tmall Supermarket, said in an exclusive interview with "Business Observer" that by the end of 2015, Tmall Supermarket achieved a sales target of 10 billion yuan ahead of schedule. In 2016, Tmall Supermarket will expand its strong strategy in the Beijing market to more than ten first- and second-tier cities.
A relevant person from Alibaba told Business Observer that after Tmall Supermarket changes its coach, it will still adopt the original "brand self-operated model" to develop online supermarket business, that is, Tmall Supermarket creates a hasty delivery system and introduces brand and retailers to carry out self-operated business.
