How should express delivery companies deal with it, "unmanned delivery and express delivery backlog"?

  During this round of express delivery storm after the Spring Festival, in response to the abnormal operation of some express delivery outlets and the backlog of express delivery without persons, the Market Supervision Department of the State Post Bureau issued a notice on February 15, requiring local departments and express delivery companies to strengthen their attention to grassroots outlets and resume operations as soon as possible.

  Yang Daqing, a special researcher at the China Logistics Society, said in an interview with "Express" magazine that the express delivery industry will have a shortage of staff every year after the Spring Festival, and some outlets of YTO, Best and SF Express face similar problems. After the Lantern Festival, as recruitment and couriers return to work, it will gradually become normal.

  The labor shortage in the express delivery industry is due to the shortage of labor after the holiday and the loss of couriers.

  Industry insiders told the story that in the paralysis of some express delivery outlets at the beginning of the year, Shentong, YTO and Tiantian all experienced similar situations: after the previous franchisees withdrew, the new franchisees did not operate in time, and the headquarters did not do a good job in handover supervision, which directly led to unmanned express delivery delivery for several consecutive days, and the backlog of outlets was accumulated, which eventually triggered a crisis.

  After the Spring Festival, many users reported that the express delivery speed had slowed down, and some places even had a situation where outlets did not deliver goods for a long time. Amid netizens' angry condemnation, the paralysis of the express delivery outlets was blamed for the insufficient couriers.

  Staff from many express delivery companies such as Shentong, YTO, and Tiantian also told me that there was indeed a loss of couriers and short-term recruitment around the Spring Festival, and the backlog of express delivery at some outlets has affected the delivery.

  With the rapid development of the takeaway industry and the launch of the same-city flash delivery war, the food delivery and flash delivery industries, which have similar work nature but relatively better treatment, have attracted a considerable number of couriers to change jobs.

  From the perspective of outlets, revenue growth has slowed down, costs have not decreased, and profits have become increasingly meager. To make matters worse, the headquarters will impose heavy penalties on some problems, making the operation unsustainable.

  But from the perspective of express delivery companies, some outlets are poorly managed and have no guarantee of service quality, so they will naturally be fined. The operating conditions continue to deteriorate, and withdrawal is a normal market behavior.
