Founded in September 2015, it is a third-party social platform focusing on C2B group buying. Users can buy high-quality products at a lower price through group buying by family, friends and neighbors.
It is rumored that Pinduoduo has exceeded the monthly GMV of 40 billion, with a total order volume exceeding JD.com, and has 300 million users on the entire network.
The power of Pinduoduo is that it uses the group model to leverage everyone's desire to share orders on WeChat, and the basis for leveraging is "hot products and low prices".
Based on the low-priced hot products, the more critical reason for the explosion of Pinduoduo is that it has caught up with the explosion of WeChat Pay's dividends. At the end of 2014, WeChat Pay counterattacked Alipay through sending red envelopes during the Spring Festival. A large number of people who have not been encircled by Taobao and Alipay have been exposed to online shopping for the first time through WeChat coin wallets and Pinduoduo.
A survey of Pinduoduo's user institution showed that there are three typical types of people on Pinduoduo. The first is that they have never purchased things online; the second is that they knew that Taobao also spent money, but they did not form habits; the third is that they are Taobao users. 2. NetEase Yanxuan
NetEase Yanxuan is an original lifestyle self-operated e-commerce brand under NetEase. Currently, it mainly focuses on home textiles and kitchenware products. At an entrepreneurs summit in November last year, Ding Lei proposed the new consumption and strict selection model for the first time.
He believes that retail cannot be separated from people, and even more so, the basic core of consumers. The evolution of all retail forms comes from the understanding of user needs, and the consumer group in the mainland is experiencing an evolution called new consumption.
At present, NetEase Yanxuan and NetEase Koala have become the two major engines of NetEase's economic growth. In the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2017, NetEase's net income of e-commerce business was RMB 4.654 billion (US$715 million), an increase of 175.2% year-on-year, far higher than the growth rate of 20% of the overall net income.
But in Ding Lei's opinion, there is no essential difference between heavy businesses such as pig farming, tea finding, and e-commerce, and Internet businesses such as games. They are all making products.
The launch of Yanxuan seems to be due to some accident. Ding Lei, who is not short of money, loves not luxury goods, but quality life. In an interview, Ding Lei said, "I also hope to create moving songs like a musician."
3. Micro-select
In March, a new joint venture between JD.com and Meili was established based on WeChat, Weixuan, which triggered the e-commerce industry.
What is micro-choice?
Weixuan is a new joint venture jointly launched by JD.com and Meili United Group, and is based on the e-commerce platform established within the first-level entrance of the WeChat Discovery Channel. Simply put, within WeChat, there will be an entrance for shopping, similar to Taobao. Therefore, it is also called WeChat version Taobao.
Why is Weixuan so popular?
The last great innovation in the e-commerce industry was Taobao, which was launched in 2003, 15 years ago. The emergence of Taobao has changed the fate of too many people.
