In 2005, there was no e-commerce yet.

Recalling the past, Mr. Ye said that Taobao had just been born at that time and Alipay did not have it yet. He opened a store on Taobao, and the goods were bought and sold, and the money was back and forth through the post office. The buyer transferred the money and then sent the goods to the buyer.
There was no Internet or mobile phone in that era, so people had to go to public telephone booths to plug in cards and call. Back then, majors such as motorcycle repair were very popular, and computers were unpopular. Mr. Ye learned computers. At that time, Mr. Ye had already started to come into contact with computers and learn programming.
It is precisely because of learning computers that Mr. Ye feels that the future trend will be that more and more people will use computers to work. Based on this judgment, he chose to start an e-commerce business.
2. Thank you to the person who cheated me of money at that time
The development of anything is from nothing to something, from small to large, and entrepreneurship is no exception.
In the early stages, Mr. Ye's company was particularly small, with extremely unstable customers, and was also encountered by foreign trade companies running away. Because when he started his business in the early days, Yiwu's store sales were all owed money, so Mr. Ye was "harmed" by his downstream.
The downstream payment cannot be obtained, and the upstream has to pay again, so Mr. Ye is in a very difficult situation. Later, relying on the efforts of relatives, friends and himself, he paid off all these debts.
"Did you ever think about giving up?"
"This has never been done before." Mr. Ye said with certainty. In Mr. Ye's consciousness, he always wanted to do something on his own, so he never thought of giving up.
Speaking of this, Mr. Ye mentioned a magazine called "Business World", which is still being published. From 2005 to 2006, Mr. Ye often bought "Business World" to read. There were many legendary people and stories in the magazine. He saw the ups and downs of business people's lives in this magazine.
"At that time, I yearned for having my own stage and doing my own career, so encountering setbacks is nothing to me. I think that I will inevitably experience it." Mr. Ye said.
Because of this magazine, Mr. Ye, who has only been in business for one or two years, has a very objective understanding of business. He saw that his predecessors were growing up and down, and he realized that the success of any individual and business was not rising straight. It was like an electrocardiogram and stock, and it made progress little by little through hardships and difficulties.
Looking back at the past experience, Mr. Ye said that he was quite grateful to those who cheated him of money at that time, and they taught him how to avoid risks. Because of this experience of being deceived, Mr. Ye met many real friends and helped him in difficult times.
3. Optimistic about the future of cross-border e-commerce
When asked about what pitfalls you have taken during the process of starting a business, Mr. Ye said: "There are too many pitfalls in e-commerce. The biggest change in the industry is the changes in the platform. Changes in platform rules will cause all your deployment to fail, and even shoot yourself in the foot." In the early years, Mr. Ye could not sell millions of goods in his warehouse due to changes in the platform.
But he is still optimistic about today's e-commerce, especially cross-border e-commerce. From a market perspective, the overall market capacity of e-commerce is much larger than before, and people's consumption habits have been cultivated. The younger generation in China knows Taobao and can shop online. Due to the outbreak of the epidemic abroad, the market for cross-border e-commerce has also gradually emerged.
Mr. Ye entered cross-border e-commerce very early, and he experienced the development of cross-border e-commerce along the way. He said that Amazon is not only popular, but also stable, "Amazon's monthly rent is $39.9, and it has not changed in recent years."
This is unlikely to happen in domestic e-commerce because domestic e-commerce platforms have changed a lot. Mr. Ye is doing cross-border e-commerce, but there are also many friends who do domestic e-commerce around him. From chatting with them, Mr. Ye found that domestic e-commerce is very difficult because there are more and more ways to play, more and more backends, and more costs.
Mr. Ye revealed some data. Now there are more than 3 million domestic sellers on Amazon platform, and tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of sellers join each month. As a veteran of cross-border e-commerce, Mr. Ye also reminded that at the current speed, there will be more and more sellers of cross-border e-commerce, and by then, cross-border e-commerce will also encounter bottlenecks, because the number of sellers continues to increase, but the traffic will not increase unlimitedly.
4 I appreciate Lao Gao’s philosophy on success
Speaking of his acquaintance with Lao Gao, Mr. Ye said it was because of a friend. After listening to Lao Gao's annual meeting, he felt a lot of feelings.
"Lao Gao is not deliberately doing something to do something. He is more based on his wishes. He hopes to help others succeed, help e-commerce success, and then he succeeds." Mr. Ye commented.
Later, Mr. Ye discovered that Lao Gao had many similar ideas, which made him appreciate them very much. Because Mr. Ye also has a similar concept, "It is a wonderful thing to help more people in the areas he is good at."
In Mr. Ye’s view, in the circle, in addition to doing business and talking about business, we can also talk about life, family, career, and body. He also thinks e-commerce is a very lonely thing, because when facing the computer every day, there is not much direct communication between friends. With a circle, everyone has a harbor, and they can chat with each other and warm each other.
But what is more valuable than this is that today's era of information changes greatly, and the power of groups is far greater than that of individuals. Most of today's e-commerce relies on platforms. When encountering changes in platform rules and emergencies, individuals have no resources or strength to resist.
But it is different with a circle. The circle can help each other and can revive the dead at critical moments (account accidents, etc.). Mr. Ye described the circle as buying an insurance policy, which you may not be able to use normally, but can work when you need it.
