Falling in the same place twice, losing 1.2 million! He was born in a professional class and couldn't tell what he had!

2021-11-15

Although most e-commerce people make a fortune for grassroots, some of them are professionals. Zhang Sheng, who went to college in Guizhou in 2008, may be one of the earliest e-commerce students in China. His major is e-commerce, but at that time he never even tried online shopping...

Two years of part-time job in college, saving the first pot of gold

In his freshman year, more than 80 people in the class opened a Taobao store at the request of the teacher. E-commerce had just emerged that year. As a student majoring in e-commerce, he was a "novice" all over the world. He knew nothing about e-commerce and just completed his homework ignorantly when opening a store. Zhang Sheng was one of them.

As a student majoring in e-commerce, there are only 4 students who finally insist on being in the e-commerce field, of course, Zhang Sheng is also among them.

During his sophomore and junior year, Zhang Sheng used e-commerce as a part-time job, and the daily 100-200 orders made him the best among his college years. Zhang Sheng, who earned about 10,000 a month, has saved more than 100,000 yuan and has the first pot of gold to start a business , which was 10 years ago.

With the support of funds and experience, Zhang Sheng applied for entrepreneurship to his teacher in his senior year, but the prerequisite was to complete his graduation thesis. Usually, the number of words in a graduation thesis costs about 6,000 to 20,000 yuan, and Zhang Sheng completed it in just one night. In his words, "Although it is simple, it is important to be true, and he wrote out the process of starting a business."

Rooted in Wenzhou, many categories

The fact that e-commerce can make money has been proven by Zhang Sheng. With the funds and relationships he saved during his part-time job, Zhang Sheng went to Wenzhou and established a cooperation with a local factory, started a distribution agency, and opened the door to e-commerce entrepreneurship.

Zhang Sheng was mature and steady in the interview, and his expression of looking back at the past also showed nostalgia for the green years. "If I had gone to college in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai at that time, the effect would definitely be better. No one in Guizhou was optimistic about this."

In a flash, more than 10 years have passed. During his entrepreneurship, Zhang Sheng has moved through several industries, from hardware door locks to wall switches, and then from sockets to pajamas. Although he has not achieved great success, these experiences have also made him gradually mature and abandoned the once erratic bad habits. He figured out that others can make money because they do enough analysis and seize supply chain resources. If he wants to become bigger and stronger, he must understand the rules of the industry like others!

Finally, Zhang Sheng chose to focus on the sub-category in the cleaning product category - household pesticides.

Dumb ate coptis

When talking about the pitfalls that e-commerce has been stumbled so far, Zhang Sheng pondered for a moment and emphasized that no matter how good the relationship with the supply chain is, he must sign a contract and keep the purchase certificate. At the same time, he must be vigilant about products involving intellectual property rights and sign relevant liability agreements with suppliers, otherwise it will be easy to be implicated.

Zhang Sheng unfortunately encountered such things twice. The manufacturers all said that the ownership of the product patent was himself, but when he was sold to the outside world, he was found by the real patent owner... Although Zhang Sheng was inexplicably targeted, he could only go to the supplier to reason with him. After careful investigation, he found that the manufacturer was a patent applied for in cooperation with others, and the other party's ownership accounted for a large proportion, which caused Zhang Sheng to suffer as an unknown sales end.

This incident made Zhang Sheng feel like a mute eating berberine - he couldn't say anything about his suffering. In the two lawsuits, 400,000 and 800,000 were lost respectively.

In the future, Zhang Sheng will sign relevant liability agreements with the supplier for any products involving intellectual property rights, and mark the company address on the product packaging as the supplier address to avoid getting angry.

With the support of the club, it is developing rapidly

After more than ten years of e-commerce entrepreneurship, Zhang Sheng's team has gone from 2 people at the beginning to 40 people today, and the office space has also changed from a small room in the past to a large flat floor of more than 3,000 square meters. We need to thank the team that has worked hard for this, and we also need to thank ourselves for sticking to the e-commerce path among more than 80 classmates.

Zhang Sheng has been joining the Laogao E-commerce Club in 2019 for two years. In this short two years, he has learned many management methods from other brother companies, such as replicating the performance appraisal plan for an operation position in a brother company in Hangzhou to motivate his employees to work more motivated. Not only that, his company's annual sales increased by 20% with the help of many brothers!

The two years of rapid development have deeply touched Zhang Sheng. I hope that Laogao E-commerce Club can organize offline communications many times so that it can get in touch with more excellent connections!
